As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like LIVING STONES are being built up as a SPIRITUAL HOUSE, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:4-5 ESV
The Lord is presently building a church unlike anything this generation has ever seen before. He’s leading believers into positions of greater intimacy and synergy, bound together by the blood and Spirit of Jesus. He’s bringing leaders into new kinds of relationships to benefit the Kingdom. The Lord intends to build His Greater Temple, a home for His holy glory, and it will outshine any manmade building or edifice.
Satan sees what the Lord is doing and he hates it. He and the demonic hordes are doing everything in their power to burn heaven’s blueprints — the blueprints for human design, for gender design, for marriage design, for family design… The enemy wants to make a massive bonfire and burn every beautiful and good thing that has come from the mind of God. But when it comes to the Church, Satan knows it is designed like an impenetrable, indomitable bulldozer equipped to smash the gates of hell. He can’t raise up an outside attack that’s strong enough. His only plan of action is to use his expertise in accusation and offense to keep the living stones from being mortared together.
When Jesus is asked what will be the signs of His coming, one of the things He says in Matthew 24:10 [NKJV] is “many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.” If the accuser can get the stones to stop honoring one another and instead partner with him in accusing and condemning one another, they won’t want to be mortared together. If we’re not mortared together, we can’t become the House of Glory.
After King Solomon finished his lesser temple, the glory of God filled it up in a thick cloud. The priests couldn’t even do priestly things, because God’s presence was so thick and heavy. How much more does God want to bring His tangible glory into our gatherings, this Greater Temple that is the Church? That’s always been His intention. For this to take place we must intentionally and continually reenforce a culture of HONOR. Watch my message from Saturday, and let’s reestablish our honor for one another [click on the image below].
THE CULTURE OF KINGDOM PRIESTS
(From Romans 12:10-11)
- Love as friends with the goal of loving like God’s family.
- Become the leading example in honoring each other.
- Do the right thing quickly and without hesitation.
- Keep your spirit boiling with the passionate fire of God.
- Serve the Lord as completely sold out for the Kingdom.
Let’s diligently honor!
