We still feel the reverberations from the cosmic event that shook heaven and earth and changed everything!

And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split.

The moment that Jesus died on the cross, everything changed. A judgement was made in third heaven, the gavel was slammed down, and unimaginable waves of power resonated down through second heaven, first heaven, the earth, and even hell itself. With supernatural tsunami force, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ smashed the entire operating system of the fallen earth. The court case that had begun with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and continued through generations, finally came to a close immediately after Jesus’ profound words, “It is finished.” Earth shook, rocks split, and the curtain that separated humans from perfect intimacy with their Holy Creator Father was torn in two through the broken body of Jesus Christ.

What a shift!!! Each one of our testimonies is an aftershock of that great heaven-and-earth-quake. When we testify we send fresh seismic waves out, affecting all the world around us. Come celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, and let’s create a fresh epicenter of Kingdom seismic activity!

APRIL 17 we’re moving our START TIME TO 930AM and having worship and a brief message outside. We’ll also have pastries and coffee. We will not have an Easter egg hunt, but we’ll have gift bags for the small children. Pray for beautiful weather, bring a lawn chair, and come a few minutes early so we can worship our Lord together.

DAILY WORD FOR APRIL 13

“The Spirit of the Lord speaks by me; his word is on my tongue.”

2 Samuel 23:2 [English Standard Version]

The final few words of King David began with the statement, “The Spirit of the Lord speaks by me; his word is on my tongue.” This is the accumulation of David’s experience in his many years as a human. The rest of what he says, though brief, is incredibly important, but we must first focus on this revelation: the Spirit speaks through me.

In the New Testament, two Greek words are used when talking about the word of God: logos and rhema. Logos is the written word, as recorded in the Bible, and rhema is the spoken word. In Ephesians 6:17, Paul instructs us to take “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Here Paul is using rhema, the sword of the Spirit is the spoken word of God. The offensive and defensive power of our spiritual warfare is in speaking God’s word in faith.

In the Star Wars movies, the characters use swords that are called “light sabers”. The sword just looks like a handle and it isn’t effective until you push a button and activate it. Then a powerful beam of light rises from the handle, forming a laser blade. This is like logos and rhema. Power is available in the written word but has to be activated. Our faith is the button, and the blade forms as we speak God’s word.

David’s great life-long accumulation of wisdom begins with the proclamation that the Spirit of the Lord speaks through him. Make this the beginning of your revelation and wisdom. The Spirit of the Lord speaks through you. Get His word on your tongue. Activate the sword of the Spirit today, and practice being dangerous. Commit yourself to the life of the sword and become the effective spiritual warrior you were designed to be.
