And all were weeping and mourning for her, but he said, “Do not weep, for she is not dead but sleeping.” And they laughed at him, knowing that she was dead.

Luke 8:52-53 ESV

A little girl died. The people around her checked for breath. They checked for a pulse. They knew from all of their worldly knowledge and past experience that this little girl was without a doubt dead. From their knowing they then took the next customary step: mourning and weeping for her.

Then along came Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the image of the Father, who did only as Father God would do. Jesus didn’t operate or process according to worldly knowledge and experience. He only proclaimed things according to the higher Kingdom reality, bringing heaven to earth. According to Heaven, this little girl was not dead and therefore the people should not be weeping. When Jesus said the little girl was not dead, the people laughed at Him, KNOWING she was dead.

I believe the Lord is asking you today: Is your KNOWING keeping you from experiencing the Kingdom of Heaven on earth? When God speaks a promise over you, do you find yourself laughing because of what you KNOW? If Jesus said you’re healed, would you laugh because you KNOW you’re sick? If Jesus said you’re prosperous, would you laugh because you KNOW you’re poor? If Jesus said you’re going to have a beautiful healthy child, would you laugh because you KNOW you’re barren?

When Abraham and Sarah were really old and Sarah was far beyond the age of bearing children, God promised that within a year she’d have a son. Sarah laughed, KNOWING such a thing would be completely physically impossible. The Lord said, “Why did Sarah laugh? Is anything too hard for the Lord?”

Is anything too hard for the Lord? Why are we limited by what we KNOW to be possible? In the earth many things are bound up in impossibilities, but in the Kingdom those limitations are removed. This is why we, as Kingdom agents, operate from a Kingdom perspective, and as Kingdom representatives we bring the Kingdom of Heaven to earth.

It’s time to make a major shift in what you KNOW!

Get ready to shift!

DAILY WORD FOR APRIL 6

“However, your real source of joy isn’t merely that these spirits submit to your authority, but that your names are written in the journals of heaven and that you belong to God’s kingdom. This is the true source of your authority.”

Luke 10:20 [The Passion Translation]

Wellspring has three essential “I” words: Intimacy, Identity, and Influence. Through faith in Jesus Christ crucified and resurrected, our sin is removed and we are restored to right relationships with our Father God and our spiritual family (the church). From those right relationships, we discover our true identity. Our Father and siblings reinforce our divine design by speaking words of edification, encouragement, and comfort over us. Then as we cast off our previous corrupt identity and fully embrace who we were made to be, we will begin to learn and operate according to our noble influence and step into our divine destiny. Intimacy —> Identity —> Influence. Come home, discover your identity, and live your destiny.

The true source of our authority is that our names have been inscribed into God’s family tree. Through faith, we are and will always be royal children of God. It’s officially written in the scrolls of heaven. You and I are His princesses and His princes with all of the authority of our Highness Father upon us and flowing through us.

Jesus told His disciples that their great joy shouldn’t be that spirits submit to their authority. Their great joy should be in their miraculous love-relationship with the King and in their adoption into His Kingdom. Of course the spirits submit, because they see children of God operating in the image and likeness of their Father. The big deal isn’t really the influence they have — that’s just the natural response to His government. The big deal is the intimacy that has restored the majestic identity that automatically carries the irresistible influence. Celebrate the One who has fully embraced you and called you child and co-heir with Jesus Christ!
