The Lord’s faithful love endures forever. It’s never-ending and without limitations. It goes on and on and on. It is true, steady, reliable, and completely trustworthy. It’s unwavering, indomitable, and consistent without exception.

The love of God is FACT AND FOREVER!

In 1998 I had a revelation. After years of rejecting God and vowing to live only according to my rules, I found myself alone in my apartment in Las Vegas, depressed, hopeless, and a slave to self destruction. My rules had sold me out. But it was at that moment of hitting rock bottom that I suddenly realized something. Jesus was there with me. I thought I could tell Him to leave me alone, but I was never powerful enough to tell Him what to do.

As a child I had called out to Jesus for salvation and surrendered my life into His hands, and no matter how much I squirmed as a young adult, Jesus never let go. In my teenage years I became very embittered and offended by the church. I used this as an excuse to pursue my own selfish desires, but no matter how much I denied God with my mouth and my life, I could never discard my belief in Him. Sometimes I’d drive out to the middle of nowhere just so I could shake my fist at the sky and yell at God to leave me alone. I just had to keep running, yet He continued following me into every dark place and through every terrible decision.

And there He was in my bedroom in Las Vegas a couple of months before my 25th birthday, with all of the same love for me, completely undiminished and with no sign of disappointment in His eyes. That’s when I first began to understand how completely different His love was from every other love that I’d ever experienced or studied or been told about in my life. I’d written papers, poetry, and songs about love, but in that moment with Jesus I realized that all of my words were foolishness and vanity. I knew nothing except that His faithful love endures forever. All these years later, I can barely see my keyboard because the memory of that moment and that revelation brings joyful tears to my eyes.

He loves you just as much as He’s ever loved me. Let Him love on you right now. Just close your eyes and let His faithful, enduring love wash over you.

Next Sunday, October 17th, we’re planning to have a very simple meeting. All we plan to do is worship. We’re going to celebrate our amazing and perfect God. We’re going to lift up His name and give Him all of attention and adoration and all of the glory He deserves. He alone is worthy! We’re going to give Him all of our love — though even combined, our love is nothing compared to His immensely immeasurable, holy love that is FACT AND FOREVER!

Let’s worship together!
Matt

DAILY WORD FOR OCTOBER 13, 2021

Living in this world can be overwhelming — especially recently as our circumstances, daily challenges, and the toxic communication in the air all continually and relentlessly oppress every person in every country. We live in a world that seems blanketed by sickness, dread, blame, deception, and manipulation; and what was once common sense is no longer common. Blatantly evil agendas appear to be abounding and advancing. We go to bed overwhelmed, we toss and turn restlessly throughout the night, and we drag out of bed overwhelmed and on the verge of total defeat.

“Capitulate and obey,” hisses the voice of this world. “Everything would be easier if you just do as your mainstream masters tell you. Don’t think. Don’t resist. Just trust them to have your best in mind.” And then as you finally surrender, this serpent world wraps you, constricts you, and bites you with its venomous fangs — all while cajoling and flattering you.

If you can relate to any of this, there is still hope. In your weakness, you are not forgotten. Our Lord God SAVES US FROM OUR ENEMIES! When you finally come to a point in your life when you just don’t know what to do, take it a sentence at a time. “I got out of bed. His faithful love endures forever.” Then take a step. “I have a church family who is standing with me. His faithful love endures forever.” Then take another step. “I have a loving Father God who thinks on me continually. His faithful love endures forever.” Then take another step. “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His faithful love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods. His faithful love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of Lords. His faithful love endures forever. Give thanks to Him who alone does mighty miracles. His faithful love endures forever.” Accompany every step with acknowledgement that His faithful love for you endures forever, and the spirit of heaviness will be replaced by a garment of praise.
