“When the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. At midnight they were roused by the shout, ‘Look, the bridegroom is coming! Come out and meet him!’” – Matthew 25:5-6 NLT
The Holy Spirit is shouting, “Wake up! Jesus Christ is just outside the door!” We are in the eleven hours of night. Are we awake, alert, and full of anticipation?
Throughout the history of the church there have been what we refer to as “awakenings”, moments that the church was shaken out of apathy and revived by the living Spirit of God. Those moments changed the direction of nations and drew multitudes into relationship with our loving Father God through faith in Jesus Christ. Now we stand at the verge of the final great awakening. One last cry of the Spirit is rising among His people, “Wake up!”
On Sunday, I gave all of the Wellspring family a homework assignment: meditate on Proverbs 31 as a prophetic poem about the Bride of Christ, the Church for whom He is returning. How do we come together in unity and fully operate as the virtuous, noble partner of Christ? Be ready to continue that conversation on Sunday, September 15th.
This coming Sunday, September 8th, Ben Nothrop will be sharing. The Lord has been speaking to him and building a message for us over the past few weeks. Come with open ears and an open heart, ready to receive and grow together!
May God fill you completely with joy and peace!
