Divine Sparks

We’re midway through our week of fasting. How are you doing? It’s amazing how a few days of no food makes your sense of smell increase. I feel like I can smell every restaurant in the Dallas area. If you’ve ever had a hard time understanding God’s pleasure in the aroma of our prayers, trying going without food a few days then go stand in a mall’s food court. Sooooo goooood…

Our theme going into 2023 is “Incense Arise”:

“O Lord, I call upon You; hasten to me! Give ear to my voice when I call to You! Let my prayer be counted as incense before You, and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice!”

You can’t make incense without burning. Are you burning? Are your prayers burning? Is your life burning in worship?

Every Wednesday at 10am I meet in Rowlett’s village square with my friends Kason and David and we pray for Rowlett. Those prayer meetings are fiery! I always walk away from that meeting excited for what God is doing and going to do.

Today as we met and prayed, I found myself praying for “divine sparks” to light up all over Rowlett. I’m believing for a great increase in new Spirit-inspired revelation, ideas, and Kingdom innovations. Sparks of God are going to light up and transform individuals, homes, businesses, schools, and churches. These sparks are going to bring new songs, new arts, new ways of living and operating, new ways of serving and leading, new ways of doing things that come straight from the fiery throne of our Father God. Eyes will be open, salvation will come, and liberty and abundant life will be restored. And these divine sparks are going to start a raging fire that will radically alter Rowlett and then spread to the region, the state, the nation, and the world. The sparks are flying out of the burning prayer bowls of the saints and falling on the dry ground of our world.

I found myself praying Psalm 63. God, You are my God! Earnestly I seek You. My soul thirsts for You. My body longs for You, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. Send Your divine sparks, Lord! This land is parched and ready for a fire-storm!

The sparks are flying! Receive the sparks and let them form a burning place in your prayer life. Then as you make a wonderful aroma before the Lord, allow Him to waft sparks from your prayer bowl out into the world around you. Now is the time of divine sparks!
