December 29, 2021

Every year we dedicate the first full week of January to the Lord. We turn off our distractions and entertainment, shut down our social media and news outlets, and we reject the world’s noise pollution. We take authority over every aspect of our lives (our appetites and desires) and we bring our hearts back into alignment with the will of God. We declare together, “Lord God, Your will be done and Your Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven!” And we recommit all that we are and all that we have in complete surrender to the agenda of God above all else.

This coming year the Lord is calling out for His Kingdom agents to fully embrace their identity, authority, and duty on this earth. It’s time to check our loyalties and our convictions. There is no room for being double-minded because the double-minded become double agents. Jesus said, “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other.”

“Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.”

– James 4:8

We are in a time very similar to the confrontation between the prophet Elijah and the priests of Baal. Our nation and the world has given their hearts away, and the Spirit of the Lord says, “How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!” (1 Kings 18:21) A line is being drawn in the sand as we draw ever nearer to the conclusion of the Age of Grace and the occurrence of the Day of Vengeance. Fully step into your design and become the Kingdom agent you were made to be! This is your time to be a light bearer to the darkness. Rise and shine!

DAILY WORD FOR DECEMBER 29

The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. The things seen, heard, and recorded about and from Jesus form the empowering breath behind true prophecy. Prophecy is communicating divinely revealed truth. Jesus is the TRUTH (John 14:6). He has filled us with Holy Spirit, who leads us into ALL TRUTH (John 16:13). Jesus is the breath of God that initiates prophecy. All true prophecy is rooted in Jesus and brings glory to God.

This is an essential principle: prophecy is forth telling the revelation of and from Jesus Christ. Jesus is the living wellspring of the prophetic and forms a stream that is available to all who cling to Him. In fact, prophecy is a natural flow of intimacy with Him. When we testify we give a report of what we’ve seen, heard and experienced. The word of our testimony is a report of our experiential knowing of Christ.

Another important principle from Revelation 19:10 is true prophetic directs all attention and glory to God. Never worship the prophet. And when you prophesy, never retain any glory to yourself. All glory to God alone! Arrogance and pride corrupt the prophetic because they sever humble intimacy with Christ; and as we already said, prophecy is a natural flow of intimacy with Him. We profess from our knowing Him. There is only One true source and there is only One truly worthy of all glory and praise.

“But if everyone is prophesying, and an unbeliever or one without the gift enters your meeting, he will be convicted by all that he hears and will be called to account, for the intimate secrets of his heart will be brought to light. He will be mystified and fall facedown in worship and say, ‘God is truly among you!’” — 1 Corinthians 14:24-25 [The Passion Translation]
