This Dry & Weary Land
“O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.” – Psalm 63:1-3
Is your soul thirsty? Is your body feeling faint, burned and dehydrated by the world? This seems to be a common feeling among people. They’re tired, but all that the world gives them is a hot, dry wind and sand in their mouths. What was the answer according to David, the psalmist? Get back into Father God’s living room and behold His powerful, glorious presence. In His presence, you’ll rediscover His deep and faithful love that surpasses everything else, including life itself. By His love you’ll be reinvigorated and overflowing with praise.
The answer is the same for you and I today. It’s time for a family reunion! This coming Sunday, May 31st, we’re having backyard worship. I plan to share a brief word of encouragement, then we’ll worship together, followed by prophetic ministry. We believe it’s time for us all to return to the Wellspring! Sunday will be all about us corporately praising and prophesying outside in the fresh air and sun. Like the first church was brought out of the upper room by the Holy Spirit on Pentecost, we believe that this Sunday’s outside service is a prophetic statement of what God wants to do 2020. He’s calling out the church!
We don’t plan to have food or refreshments, childcare, or additional activities. It’s just about beholding God’s power and glory and praising Him with our lips. We’re also not requiring people to wear masks, but we are asking that people bring a beach towel, picnic blanket, or lawn chair. This is not going to take place at our normal meeting location. Let me know if you’d like to join us and I’ll text you the address.
His love is better than life!
