Do you lord down or serve up? Are you a dominator or a slave? Jesus said, “The greatest among you will be the servant of all.” He also said He “came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” This is the exact opposite of what the world teaches us. It’s the opposite of our celebrity pop culture and our look-at-me social media influencers. Each of us need to start seeing ourselves as Kingdom agents, and Kingdom agents LEAD DIFFERENTLY. We are servant leaders, each responsible for pursuing the will of the King. This is a life of self-sacrifice in order that’s the Lord’s will be done and His Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
As you watch Sunday’s message, you’ll see we also officially positioned Sally and Josh Pearson as Wellspring’s youth leaders. Together we anointed them with oil, laid hands on them, and prayed for them as they stepped into this wonderful example of Kingdom leadership. Over the past few months we’ve been positioning leaders in different roles in the church. We’re actively praying, positioning, and preparing for a the future.
You’ll see in the video from Sunday that we gave a brief update on our facility exploration. Yesterday we took a team of builders and contractors to look at a potential space to begin forming a budget. We’ve also just started the leasing conversations with the owner of the space. Nothing is nailed down yet, but please continue praying with us:
Lord God,thank You for Your vision for Wellspring and thank You for Your provision. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that You please give us wisdom, clear guidance, and favor throughout this building process. Help us find and prepare a family room to serve the purposes and plans of Your Kingdom. Amen.
Remember, we are equal brothers and sisters, so this is equally about each and every one of us. You’re not praying for God to help Matt and Ben or the Wellspring board. You’re praying for God to help us. You’re praying for our family room. Once we get the green light from the Lord, we’ll also need to raise a lot of money. I have complete confidence that God will lead us and provide for every need. Our job is to pray and obey.
Finally, I mentioned this in last week’s update, but I want to remind everyone again to mark 7pm February 16 on your calendar. We’re planning to have an evening of prayer and worship at my house that evening. Join me and Debbie Countryman, our prayer ministry leader, as we step together into worship and intercession. We have much to praise and pray about together as the church. For more information, email Debbie at debcoun@gmail.com.
Let’s walk in our calling together!

DAILY WORD FOR FEBRUARY 9
O Lord my God, you have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal. If I tried to recite all your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them.
— Psalms 40:5 NLT
Can you remember the awe of childhood? We were blown away by visiting the zoo. We sat on the edge of our seats with eyes wide and mouths open as we watched giant killer whales swimming with people. As children, we went to circuses or stunt shows expecting to be awed by the wonder of human achievement. We watched movies with special effects more extravagant than anything we imagined.
Do you still have your awe? Are you still able to be amazed? As children of God, we go into His presence anticipating the wonder of His deeds. Keep your eyes open today and prepare to be awed by God’s performance in your life. He is still performing for you!
Today meditate on one wonderful thing that you know God has done in your life. That one thing was also just one part of His many plans for you. That one wonder tied to that one plan is a first fruit of the more to come. There is no equal to your Father God, therefore there is no power in all the universe strong enough to hinder or interfere with His intentions for you as you walk with Him.
