Come!

COme Fast!
January 4-11

Revelation 22:17,20‬ ‭ESV — 17 The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price. 20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!

The Jewish new year of 5786 began this past fall. The theme has been for believers to be strongly established in the Word. The Hebrew symbol for 8 is mouth and for 6 is a tent peg. This is the year of grace, completion, Word, and being strongly established in our faith. Isaiah 54:2 says, “Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out; do not hold back; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes.” Strengthen your stakes! Make sure your life is deeply and firmly established in the Word of God!

Tomorrow we begin 2026, and Wellspring’s word for this coming year is “Come!” It will be a year of responding to divine invitations and to sharing those divine invitations. The Water of Life is available to those who come, and the Living Water is the Spirit of God. Come to the Water, for Christ is coming soon!

“Come” will be the theme of our annual fast, from January 4 to 11. Invite your friends and family to participate with us. We’ll intentionally dedicate the week to seeking intimacy with God through total surrender and wide open hearts. During our service on the 11th, we’ll give everyone an opportunity to share their word and scripture for 2026. You won’t want to miss this powerful and encouraging time together!

Fast Guidelines

  • Fast Food — Like Daniel, you can fast from junk food, meat, and alcohol. Or you can fast one meal a day, setting that meal time aside for prayer and the Word.
  • Fast Social Media, TV, and Movies — If you really need to watch something, watch sermons and Bible lessons, or watch “The Chosen”. Keep your eyes on things that grow your intimacy with the Lord. Read books that will grow you as a follower of Jesus.
  • Fast Secular Music — Listen to worship and praise music.
  • Personal Prayer Altar — Set up a specific place in your home that will be your prayer altar (your meeting place with God to study His word, listen quietly to His voice, pray in the Spirit, and lift up your concerns and declarations). And journal.
  • Corporate Prayer Altar — Intentionally pray with others, participate in the Thursday night’s House Prayer meeting.
  • Colossians 3:23-24 ESV — Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.

Come Participate!

On January 1, we’ll begin our annual Bible reading plan. In the past I have sent daily texts from the plan, but in 2026 I’m planning to produce a short video for each day of the year. The videos will include a short daily message followed by a reading of the scheduled scriptures. If you would like to read along in the YouVersion Bible App, click on the following links to join our reading plans.

Since I won’t be sending the daily texts, make sure you subscribe and follow for the daily messages on YouTube and/or Spotify. Click on the following links to participate.

2026 is the year COME! Be intentional in responding to Holy Spirit’s invitations, and be intentional about inviting others to the wellspring of life!

Come Pray!

Revive Us & Dwell Here - Psalm 85:6-9 ESV
Lord, bring revival to us and cause rejoicing. Reveal Your love and grant salvation. May we hear Your voice and receive Your words of shalom over us, and may we never return to our rebellion. Restore in us holy fear, reverence, and awe, that our Savior would be enthroned in our midst. May Your glory dwell in our land. May DFW be called the abode of Yahweh’s weighty presence, the home of His resting splendor and honor. We lift this prayer up in the throne-room of heaven, and we declare in the name of Yeshua (Yahweh Saves), let it be so!

Seeking His face!
Matt
