While Ezra prayed and made confession, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, a very great assembly of men, women, and children, gathered to him out of Israel, for the people wept bitterly.
— Ezra 10:1 ESV
Ezra and the people of Israel were broken hearted over the conviction that they’d given their hearts away. They had made covenants and partnerships that were not from God; and from these partnerships, their lives had produced ungodly fruit. Notice that both the gathering and the conviction were cross-generational. Men, women, young, and old wept.
“Yet even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and rend your hearts and not your garments.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster.
— Joel 2:12-13 ESV
September 6th, the people of Texas are being called together for a solemn assembly in Brady. This is a call to the hearts of men and women of all ages to gather in fresh and wholehearted surrender. The Lord is calling for a gathering IN the heart of Texas FOR the heart of Texas. This is a time of repenting from all that we’ve given our hearts to and repenting from all we’ve produced from our divided hearts. Starting Sunday, August 17th, we will fast for twenty one days, opening all of our lives up to the Lord, saying, “Come and examine us, Lord God. Stir up your heavenly conviction within us and reveal any and all division within our hearts. Show us what we’ve loved and all that we’ve produced from our unholy adorations, that we may cast these off. Help us by Your Holy Spirit to return wholeheartedly to You as our first and foremost love. You are gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love! Thank You for loving us! Receive our hearts!”
From September 22nd to October 2nd, there will be ten days of prayer and worship in the state capital building in Austin. September 6th is a call to the heart and then the ten days will be a call to the head. As we surrender our hearts, then we will see the transformation we’ve been believing for. Transformation comes from the renewal of the mind. God is doing something remarkable and extraordinary from the heart of Texas to the head of Texas. And then October 9th to 12th, tents from all fifty states will be set up in Washington D.C., along with an enormous communion table. Do not miss what God is doing in this hour! Restoration of hearts, restoration of heads, restoration of communion!
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
— Romans 12:1-2 ESV
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”
— Revelation 3:20 ESV
Even if it’s impossible for you to be physically present at any of these gatherings, you can still partner with us in prayer and fasting. Go to unitedcry.com and register so that you can receive the daily devotionals and unite with your spiritual brothers and sisters. Also, if you’re available on Thursday mornings at 7am, United Cry is hosting a prayer meeting on Zoom that you’re invited to join. Again, even if you can’t go to Brady or Austin or Washington D.C., you can still partner in faith. This fall is not “business as usual”. This is a kairos time for Kingdom business. This is the clear call from our God to surrender our hearts to Jesus Christ, to surrender our heads to Jesus Christ, and to prepare a habitation for Jesus Christ as we return to the table.
