Gathering for Revival

Don’t Neglect the Meeting

“And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”
— Hebrews 10:25 NLT

Do not devalue or deprioritize the gatherings. We must encourage one another to participate in the meetings, especially as time accelerates towards THE DAY. Christ-centered gatherings are becoming increasingly important with each passing day.

I’ve recently heard many reports about the quickly increasing power of artificial intelligence in the world. Governments and companies are charging forward, driven by competition, to develop the most advanced A.I. When I was young, we were in a nuclear arms race that impacted the entire world. Whoever had the most nukes had the most power. The A.I. race is far worse and far more beyond our control. No leader really believes it’s a good idea or safe (unless they’re completely ignorant and/or deceived), but they refuse to be left behind. The race is on and the only winner will be A.I. I heard a businessman talking about his use of A.I. in his corporation. As of today, the A.I. has written 75% of its own code and will quickly be at 99%. Many researches believe A.I. will be beyond human control before or by 2030.

If you don’t have faith in Jesus Christ, you should be terrified. But if you do have faith, you should be motivated. Not motivated to build bunkers and go off the grid. We are not survivors but overcomers. We overcome with the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony, for we do not love our lives so much that we’re afraid to die (Revelation 12:11). We must arise as fearless followers of Christ and share our Jesus stories with everyone willing to listen. And even as the world commands us to stop gathering (like it did in 2020), we will never neglect our meeting together.

In 1614, Christianity was completely banned in Japan. Anyone who refused to deny Christ was brutally killed with public torture and execution. Believers were forced to go underground, but they still met. To this day, Christian symbols can be found in attics of ancient buildings and in caves. When missionaries were again allowed into Japan in the 19th century, they discovered these communities of faith. In Japan they were called Kakure Kirishitan, “Hidden Christians”. Today this same intense persecution is still happening in nations around the world, and yet around the world the believers still meet. The Gospel actually spreads the fastest in persecuted countries with “Hidden Christians”, because they do not fear death and they sincerely believe the power of the Blood and the Word. The antichrist spirit longs for the removal of the church, but it cannot do this within its own power. In fact, the presence of the Spirit-filled church is holding back the antichrist spirit and its full manifestation.

“And you know what is holding him back, for he can be revealed only when his time comes. For this lawlessness is already at work secretly, and it will remain secret until the one who is holding it back steps out of the way.”
— 2 Thessalonians 2:6-7 NLT

Just as technology is exponentially accelerating, so are things in the spiritual realm. I truly believe that we are in the days of the greatest awakening. These are the greatest days of the church, unlike we’ve ever seen before. Now is the time to cast our nets onto the other side of the boat and haul in the supernatural, net-stretching multitude. This means that we no longer operate in our comfortable “business as usual”. We must gather before God with repentant hearts and allow Him to give us a new paradigm and a fresh powerful anointing for this new and extremely special time.

Gathering for Revival

“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the LORD has commanded the blessing, life forevermore.”
— Psalm 133

In the Bible we see many stories of revival. The Old Testament talks about King Hezekiah who called the nation to restore the Temple and right worship. Later King Josiah also led a restoration of worship, and in the process they discovered their scripture. That’s crazy to think about, but the people had moved so far from God that they completely forgot that they had written instructions from Him. There are also other instances of other leaders bringing repentance and reformation. Each time this would include removing idolatry and gathering together united in prayer. No matter where you lived, you were expected to come to a specific location and participate. This was actually an important part of the instructions given to the Hebrew people by God. He ordained specific dates that the people would gather together each year. But just as they stopped following Him, they stopped gathering. And in their repentance, they returned to the gathering.

In the New Testament, the children of God were no longer an earthly ethnicity. What started as the Hebrew people was made available to all nations through faith in Jesus Christ. The gatherings were and are still incredibly important, but now they happen in cities around the world. In the Book of Acts, the gathering went from the Temple to synagogues, to an upstairs room, to a place of prayer by a river, to someone’s home… Yet, in the Old Testament and in the New Testament, the gathering is key.

Fall of 2025 there will be many important opportunities to gather. Of course, we include our weekly worship and prayer gatherings; but also we are in a time of larger gatherings. September 6th will be a solemn gathering in Brady (the geographical center of Texas). This is a call to people of every county of Texas to come together in prayer and fasting for revival in our state. September 22nd to October 2nd will be ten days of prayer at the state capitol. During those ten days, there will be continual prayer meetings at every capital in every state, praying for national revival. October 9th to 12th there will be a massive communion table set up in the National Mall. This will be a call to the nation to return to the communion table with Jesus.

I feel called to participate in the Heart of Texas meeting, and I encourage everyone who can to join us. Wellspring will not be meeting that weekend because our focus is on the Brady gathering. I also intend to participate in the Ten Days of Prayer, but I’ll probably only go to Austin for one of those days (September 27th). Join me in Brady on September 6th. The gathering is being organized by United Cry, one of our incredible ministry partners. This is not a conference or a concert. This is a Joel 2 solemn time of prayer and fasting for our state. They are looking for volunteers to help facilitate. If you would like find out more or register or volunteer, please go to: https://www.unitedcry.com/prayerattheheartoftx.

Leading up to September 6th, we will begin a 21-day fast on August 17th. Psalm 65:7 says that God stills the tumult of the people. Just like He can stop the pounding waves of the sea, God calls the noise of the people to be quiet. As we fast, we allow Him to bring quietness through right alignment. We turn off the chaos and say, “Be Lord of all that I am!” Then in the quietness, we begin to hear the whisper of His Spirit. And then the whisper becomes a roar of Living Waterfall!
