Unstoppable

Yet, as God’s servants, we prove ourselves authentic in every way. For example: We have great endurance in hardships and in persecutions. We don’t lose courage in a time of stress and calamity.

2 Corinthians 6:4 TPT

Every January, Wellspring members fast and seek the Lord for a word and scripture that will be their encouragement or focus for the coming year. This past year, Sako (my amazing wife) received the word “advance”. Immediately after she proclaimed her word to the church, she was in a head-on collision on the way home. We were in separate cars, so I jumped out of my car and ran to her. As I leaned over her in her crushed car, I repeatedly asked her, “What’s your word, Sako?” Dazed she answered, “Advance.”

With God’s help we will prevail with might and power. And with God’s help we’ll trample down our every foe!

Psalms 108:13 TPT

Sako has faced one challenge after another this year; but because she is determined to trust the Lord and see His Kingdom advance, she refuses to be victimized. In fact, every enemy attack has been followed by promotion in the natural. She remains victorious in Christ. She refuses to be overcome by circumstances or situations and instead rises with Jesus as an overcomer. I don’t know how many times the enemy has attempted to steal from her, but this just increases her faith for abundant compensation.

But if he [the thief] is caught, he still has to pay back what he stole sevenfold; his punishment and fine will cost him greatly.

Proverbs 6:31 TPT

“A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect —life in its fullness until you overflow!”

John 10:10 TPT

Yesterday as Sako was prepping her team for a tournament (she’s a high school tennis coach), she tripped on a curb and fell. She not only skinned her knees and fingers but hit her face on the concrete, scraping her face and breaking two of her front teeth. Another coach she works with immediately called me to come pick her up and take her to a clinic. I called ahead to my dentist and then raced over to pick up Sako. She looked beat up. The dentist was actually closed, but she brought Sako into her office, and she and an assistant went to work. In an incredibly short time, the dentist had reconstructed Sako’s front teeth and you couldn’t tell they’d ever broken.

As we were checking out, Sako said, “Take me back to the tennis court.” She had unfinished business. Sako was determined that she would not go home and pamper her wounds. She would advance.

Up until this tournament, her team was undefeated. When we arrived back at the courts, they had lost all eight matches in Sako’s absence. After Sako arrived (beat up and bruised, but burning with determination), her team didn’t give up another match and at the end of the tournament they walked away once again victorious.

Someone said later, “Sako, I can’t believe you didn’t go home and nurse your wounds.” And Sako responded, “I would never give my enemy that satisfaction.”

We have a promise in John 10:10. Yes, the enemy will come and attempt to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus gets the final say. His presence comes and overturns the tournament with two radical, super powerful words: ABUNDANT LIFE. Don’t lose courage in times of stress and calamity. With God’s help, you will prevail! He comes to give you life in its fullness until you overflow!

Seeking His face!
