“Do business until I come back.”
Luke 19:13b
Jesus told a story about a prince who was leaving one realm to receive a kingdom in another realm. Before leaving, the prince gathered his servants and gave them the command, “Do business until I come back.”
This story was an illustration of the Kingdom of God. Jesus ascended from the Mount of Olives to Heaven to sit at the right hand of Father God, and He will descend from Heaven to the Mount of Olives to set up His throne on the earth.
We know He will return, but our focus is not His return. Our focus is doing the business of the King in His absence. And we use the word “absence” loosely because He is always with us through His Spirit. And the Spirit helps us and empowers us to be His agents and do His business.
What does it look like today for you to do His business?
Seeking His face!
